We have been called to speak about our Savior and there are many ways that we can share the message of salvation that we have been given and have experienced, because of the sacrifice that He accomplished through His death on the cross. We can share it through our testimony, our song, and our witness. We do it because we care for the souls of others, and their eternal welfare.

Another way to look at the meaning of this song is leaving something behind that speaks of your Savior. We are not here to speak of ourselves, but of the One who has saved us. We are to reflect Christ, and He is the light that we are reflecting.
